Manna I was talking with a friend about manna. Remember that? It's the stuff that God gave to Israel to eat in the wilderness. They had to collect it in the morning, and each man was only allowed to gather what he needed to feed his family that day, and it would spoil by the next morning.

I was thinking about my relationship with God. And I noticed that I need to seek Him like manna. I have sometimes felt like I can just go to church on Sunday, and the rest of the week, I won't worry about God too much. But that week will always suck. My seeking Him on Sunday will sustain me that day, but I need to refresh my commitment to Him the next morning, or else my relationship and my walk begin to spoil.

God created the manna to only last a day so that Israel couldn't start thinking they could do it without Him. He wanted to make sure that they depended on Him and knew that they were dependant on Him.

God created us to need Him every day. We can't go even one day without seeking Him and still expect to be in the right place, or on the right path. He made us that way so that we can't take credit for it ourselves. On Sunday I would praise Him and be filled. Monday I would thank Him still. Tuesday, maybe I'd start thinking this is a good day, and I'm doing fine, then Wednesday I'd be saying, "I'm good, and I didn't even do anything with God." He doesn't want that. He wants us to seek Him every morning, and make our day about Him.

For by grace you have been saved through faith; and this is not your own doing, it is the gift of God: not because of works, lest any man should boast. _Ephesians.2.8-9

We need to seek and rely on God everyday. Or our lives will spoil.

Thank you Lord, for this day. Teach me to seek you and walk in your ways everyday and with every step in my life. I will seek to praise you with every breath and glorify you in all that I do. In the name of your son Jesus, Amen.  ¶ 18:45 0 Comments
